Ms. Farida has over 15 year’s experience in the media industry, working for companies such as Royal Media Services as well as The Standard Group. At Royal Media Service she occupied the role of Chief Operating Officer and Group Editorial Director. On the other hand, at The Standard Group she was Assistant Director- Broadcast Operations. She is the former Cabinet Secretary for Lands and Physical Planning (2018 - 2022) where she prepared the budget which shows government expenditure / sources of revenue in the Ministry. She is a member at the Foreign Correspondence Association as well as at the Kenya Editors Guild.
Ms. Farida Karoney graduated with a Bachelor of Science Education degree in Botany and Zoology from Kenyatta University. She then went on to the University of Nairobi, where she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication. She enrolled in the MBA degree course at UoN, graduating with a Master of Business Administration, specializing in Strategic Management. Later, she obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from UoN, specializing in Strategic Management.
